Comments

Passenger transfer and cargo operations underway at 0830 and continued throughout the day yesterday. The D7 and 100 tonne crane were unloaded late in the evening in near perfect conditions with virtually no wind and are ashore safely and undamaged. Cargo remaining to be unloaded at completion of operations last night is the concrete pallets, 5 half heights of fuel, explosives and two other small containers. A fantastic effort from all concerned on the ship and ashore in unloaading the D7 and crane, and it really is a great example of the skill and ingenuity of the members of our expeditions. Some backloading was also undertaken and N0 1 lower is now full. No operations have been possible today as at the time of writing as the wind speed is making barge and crane operations too dangerous to commence. The wind has been dropping most of the morning and we are hopeful of getting underway in the next hour or so.
