Moderate conditions prevailed yesterday afternoon and we reached a position 20 miles from Mawson around 2300 and we remained that location overnight. Commenced approach to Mawson at 0600 this morning but wind gusting in excess of 30 knots prevented approach to harbour until 1000. Howard Burton and Inflatable not able to be deployed at Nelson Rock due to swell, but were deployed in Kista Strait at 0840 and are currently undertaking survey work. Ship secure in harbour by 1100 and SL is about to board ship for briefing. Hope to get passenger transfer, fuel transfer and cargo operations underway in next thirty minutes.
