Continuous Plankton Recorder deployed this morning at 0800 local, at 49 53S, 142 16E and will let it run for the next 450nm. Both engines running and making excellent speed, reaching 18kts at times. If the weather and sea conditions hold we should arrive Casey 23 Dec rather than 25 December. Plans afoot for Christmas Day on Saturday 22 Dec. All onboard well and in high spirits. Clocks back 1hr each day over the next 3 days to match Casey time.
