Made excellent progress after retreating from yesterday's position and trying further west, after receiving the NOAA pictures. Now 45nm on a bearing of 011 from PolarB and 80nm from Davis. Still heading directly for PolarB. Currently holding in an open patch waiting for an ice recce using the helicopters from PolarB rather than Davis. Pax transfer ex Davis at any stage if weather permits. We anticipate transferring 100,000 l of SAB to PolarB once alongside, and after careful planning between both sets of Masters and VL's. Regular HF contact with both Davis and PolarB. Hoping for southerly winds to help move the pack out. Did a trawl last night yielding many thousand of live krill.
