During the night there was evidence of extensive pressure on the ice sheet. We are now waiting for SE winds to ease this pressure and open the cracks in the sheetbefore attempting the last 2nm [to Polar Bird] again. The weather forecast is looking good for continuing within 24hours, with further SE winds expected. A general feeling of disappointment onboard that we didn't get PolarB free last night. So much work and so close. Our plans are to continue to attempt to break the last 2nm as soon as conditions ease on the ice sheet - a waiting game.
