Currently heading north out of Prydz Bay for open water, before turning west towards Mawson. A huge day yesterday. All Mawson personnel and all cargo flown 40nm between PolarB and Aurora using the 2 helicopters from PolarB and the 2 helicopters from Davis. No accidents, no injuries. Operations completed just before midnight yesterday, with the Davis helicopters returning to Davis, while we have the helicopters ex PolarB onboard Aurora. A detailed ice recce was carried out to assess the best option for the next attempt to break her free. Our intentions are to delivery the Mawson crew and cargo and return to Prydz Bay for another attempt, hoping there has been a significant change in the ice conditions while we are at Mawson.
