After almost 24 days’ commute for some of us, the ocean acidification team finally arrived at Casey station on Wednesday 12 November.

Preparations for the project are underway. We've sorted our cargo, begun preparing the hyperbaric chamber, dive equipment and the science labs, and started installing the sensor system, seawater enrichment and other components of the surface operations infrastructure. We've also been out on an initial site visit to determine where we'll place our first dive holes.

The team has made a great start despite the delays and we're moving to have everything in place above and below the sea ice and to get the Antarctic Free Ocean Carbon Enrichment experiment started as soon as we can.
