Deployment of the underwater experimental infrastructure began last week and is going well.

Our largest, most challenging bits of underwater equipment are the 40m long ducts, or ‘Slinkies’ as we've nicknamed them. The team has devised an innovative method of suspending these long, awkward to handle Slinkies under the sea ice, before gently lowering them into place on the seabed. It’s been a great team effort to coordinate a task we're pretty sure no one has ever tried before.
