Antarctic Science Advisory Committee

The Antarctic Science Advisory Committee (ASAC), through the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), assists the Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, in the development of the science strategy, evaluation of science quality, advice on the infrastructure and capability required to support the science program, and alignment with national and international science programs. See current membership and terms of reference for the committee.

In accordance with its terms of reference, ASAC presented to the Minister for approval an Australian Antarctic Science Strategic Plan for 2011-12 to 2020-21. The Minister approved the plan on 19 July 2010.
