From time to time you hear stories. Stories that would baffle the mind and perplex the senses. This be such a story, so shocking that it will become legend to be talked about by expo both past, present and future.
What is this story you ask?
A story of camaraderie, of friendship, a story of a group of men unified under one banner.
Put plainly a story about a King.
The story begins in the twilight days of the Mawson summer sagas.
Rumours had been told of a long green serpent that guarded a powerful scripture on the West Arm peninsula, left by a great orange Dragon Nuyina that passed through the realms once a year.
The reports from the local villagers told of this beast’s potential to poison the lands and harm the penguin folk, a tiny tribe of bird folk endemic to the realm.
Lord Sambrooks of Rosella House heard of this plight and began his Mission to unite the other three warring factions of Mawson Realm. He recruited his two knights, Sir Heaton Tall Tree and Sir Brock Stache to cross the lands and beseech the mages Sparkle of Turbine Peak and the Water folk of Tank House Flats to bend their knee.
SamBrooks himself would tackle the Dieseltons, the smallest but most powerful tribe in the kingdom; known for their skill with iron and their fame for tackling the mechanical monsters of the winter lands, savages in their own right, but not beyond reasoning.
The Water folk were an easy conquest - an offering of caffeine and beverage to Chief Muggas by Sir Heaton was all required to bring the Water folk into the fold.
Sir Brock on the other hand had an arduous task before him. The Sparkles were known to avoid any hard labours, instead using magic for their daily tasks. A battle ensued that lasted for several hours, alas Sir Brock was injured, but the Sparkles were in awe of the man’s sheer tenacity and resilience in the face of such odds. This proved to be the factor that caused the Sparkles to stand by House Rosella.
Through expert negotiations, Mansfield, Lord of Diesels, only stipulation was that he would be the one to offer the serpent back to the Dragon upon its arrival to the Mawson Realm as tribute for a fruitful resupply.
With all houses united under one Banner it was decreed by the people that the House of Rosella be given a new name.
The name hence forth: Sambrooks Rosella, King of Infrastructure and protector of the Kingdom Mawson.
With all the Houses assembled on West Arm they stared down the beast, green and scaly nearly three hundred metres in length. Sambrooks sounded the call and the army charged. The Sparkles casting their ice magics freezing the monster in place all the while the Water folk scaling its back and roping its mouth shut to stop the creature from spitting its vile sludge. Sambrook’s and Dieseltons clashed against the beast with hammer and brimstone, pieces of ice flying everywhere as the beast could not be cut but was safely bludgeoned to avoid its toxic waste entering the land. The battle was long and hard but the realm was victorious.
As they passed over the West Arm hill back to Mawson Sir Brock appeared alive and well. How glorious that the Knights of the Kingdom were reunified to parade the creature though the streets of Mawson.
Oh, how the people cheered with the King and the Dieseltons rolling the creature onto its final resting place, a great cage to be offered to the orange Dragon Nuyina.
The kingdom was safe, forever grateful and King Sambrooks could rest easy with a grateful Mawson.
Long live the King.
