Applications have been called for the Australian Government’s 2011 Indo-Pacific Cetacean Research and Conservation Fund.

The grant program, run by the Australian Marine Mammal Centre at the Australian Antarctic Division, aims to promote positive conservation outcomes for whales and dolphins in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

This is the second year of the program, with approximately $100,000 available in this grant round.

In 2010 the Government awarded more than $228,000 for four three-year projects in the waters off Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Fiji and Bangladesh.

Applications close on 20th December.
