The Presiding Officers’ Gallery is currently showing a photo exhibition prepared by the Australian Government Antarctic Division promoting the importance of Australia’s Antarctic programme. It will be on display from 6 September until 4 October 2006.

These fabulous images reveal that Antarctica is more than icebergs and penguins — rather an amazing world of colour and creatures.

The photographs have mostly been taken by the scientists and support staff who live and work in this remote, beautiful part of the world and capture moments that most of us would never experience.
