Support craft

Ships use a number of support craft for resupply purposes.

These include LARCs (Lighter, Amphibious, Resupply, Cargo), barges, and helicopters which are frequently used to support shipping operations.

Inflatable rubber boats (IRBs) are also used for ship-to-shore personnel transfers and refuelling operations.

The Aurora Australis is also fitted with a fast rescue boat and a workboat.
