A pre-departure briefing is held for each voyage south, usually on the scheduled day of sailing.

However, expeditioners are required to arrive at their departure point at least one day before their scheduled sailing day. Attendance at the briefing is compulsory. Expeditioners failing to attend will not be permitted to sail.

Attendance at environmental briefings, helicopter safety briefings and other pre-disembarkation briefing sessions is compulsory.
