There are two John Deere tractors on Macquarie Island. One is for use around the station and is fitted with a backhoe. The other is dedicated to science support. It is a one person vehicle, with the capacity to carry scientific gear across the beaches.
Appropriate John Deere tractor training is required before it can be used.
