Macca's final 2012 edition includes visiting tourists, orcas and the usual (but never ordinary) tales of work and photos of all there is to find on this beautiful, remote island. Wishing our friends, family, colleagues and our Antarctic friends a very Mery Christmas.

MIPEP hunters do it tough but get rewarded, tourists preparation is underway and expeditioners clean-up, dress-up and showcase the flora and fauna of Macquarie Island with some stunning photography.

Updates on the usual work at Macca include a report on endemic orchids, photos of a very large yet acrobatic elephant seal and more of the same which is never ordinary.

At Macquarie Island, we carry on with vital work including pest eradication, bird census, hut maintenance, remediation and taking photos of all the amazing creatures and landscapes that make this place so unique.
