How we spent Australia Day on Macca

Australia Day Macca Style

Last week we celebrated Australia Day the same way that a lot of Australians celebrate that hot summer day – by going for a swim at the beach.

The only difference was that our “hot summer day” was actually a pretty cold one and the water was rather chilly!! But we were well prepared, as our doctor Cathryn had given us a medical briefing first, we had rescue equipment on standby, and people on orca lookout for an hour beforehand. Fortunately, no orcas were spotted so we were able to briefly brace the cold and went for a quick dip.

We then raced straight to the hot tub to warm up again and then continued the celebrations in the evening with a hearty feast.
