    Earlier this week wild winds kept us almost literally on our toes, but it settled down by the weekend. Now we await the retreat of the sea ice, particularly so the marine biologists can begin sea urchin collection. Preparations for Christmas are also underway!

    We have had another busy week, cramming in a lot in the space of just seven days. To start with we had the skiway out in front of the station to prepare in anticipation of the CASA 212s arrival from Casey, when it is ready and the weather allows. The finished article looked mighty fine until the wind got up last night and it is now slightly lumpier than this image portrays. I think the groomers will be back out there again before the plane arrives. We have had another busy week, cramming in a lot in the space of just seven days.
