Annual base salary (while in Australia)
$60,074 pa ($2,303 per fortnight before tax)
In addition whilst working in Antarctica allowances of up to $54,460 pa are payable.
As Communications Operator (CO) you'll operate communications equipment ensuring the safety of personnel travelling in the field, by aircraft or watercraft, and maintain appropriate logs and check sheets. You'll assist other expeditioners with minor computer problems and assist technical staff with network administration.
This role also maintains a continuous log and full air-ground plot when working with aircrafts associated with station programs.
You're also required to assist expeditioners, both prior to departure and in Antarctica, with the rectification of minor computer problems.
The typical employment period for Communications Operator is generally 3-6 months.
Recreation Leave - You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days for each full year worked. Please note that recreation leave is not available in Antarctica.
Superannuation - A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4% will be paid in addition to salary and allowances.
