Annual base salary
(while in Australia)$60,074 pa ($2,303 per fortnight before tax)
In addition whilst working in Antarctica allowances of $54,460 pa are payable.
As an Aerodrome Camp Support Officer (ACSO) you will be responsible for cooking and catering, food and kitchen/ablution hygiene and for maintaining accurate records of all foodstuffs and consumables and stock control, and for assisting with the re-ordering of foodstuffs and consumables for Wilkins Aerodrome camp in conjunction with both Casey Chefs and Kingston based Chef's advisor.
The typical employment period for Aerodrome Camp Support Officer is 8 months. During this period you will be required to undertake training in Hobart for up to 8 weeks before departure and remain in Hobart for a debrief of up to 5 days immediately following return from Antarctica.
Recreation Leave - You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days for each full year worked. Please note that recreation leave is not available in Antarctica.
Superannuation - A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4% will be paid in addition to salary and allowances.
