Annual base salary (while in Australia)
$78,094 pa ($2,994 per fortnight before tax)
In addition whilst working in Antarctica an allowance of $52,632 pa are payable.
The Engineering Services Supervisor (ESS) schedules and supervises the on-site activities of a group of trades personnel, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, plant operators, technical officers and other associated trades engaged in operational and planned preventive maintenance, construction and refurbishment projects.
Supervising the workload of a multi-disciplined trade group at Head Office prior to embarkation and then in Antarctica or on Macquarie Island, you're responsible for requisitioning all materials and equipment for completion of the summer work program, and then monitoring and reporting the progress of this program.
As part of the station management team, you'll actively work to ensure effective program delivery and support all AAD policies. Additionally, you'll operate and maintain a computerised maintenance management system and assist science programs when necessary.
You will have a suitable Engineering, Trade or Technical certificate and have current or recent hands-on trade experience in the building industry.
Additional courses are an advantage.
The typical employment period for Engineering Services Supervisors is approximately 8 months.
Recreation Leave - You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days for each full year worked. Please note that recreation leave is not available in Antarctica.
Superannuation - A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4% will be paid in addition to salary and allowances.
