Station Mechanical Supervisor
The Australian Antarctic Division is now accepting applications for job opportunities supporting the 2018–19 Australian Antarctic Program.

Overview of the role
As the Station Mechanical Supervisor you will manage the Station mechanical section's operations. You will be responsible for the effective operation and mechanical maintenance of power houses, the maintenance of mobile and stationary mechanical plant, the management of fuel farms and other fuel and lube storage, the management of the mechanical workshop, the management of mechanical spares and consumable stocks, and the endorsement of expeditioners to operate vehicles and mechanical plant. In addition to management and supervisory roles, you will perform hands-on mechanical work and operate equipment as part of the mechanical team.
Station Mechanical Supervisors will normally only be employed in winter jobs at Casey, Davis and Mawson stations.

Salary and allowances
The annual base salary (while in Australia) is $77,789 per annum ($2,982 per fortnight before tax).
Additional allowances totalling $59,186 per annum are payable while working in Antarctica.
A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4% will be paid in addition to salary and allowances.
You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days per annum pro rata. Please note that recreation leave is not available in Antarctica, but will be paid out on return to Australia.
