Egon Wehrle has spent one winter and six summer seasons at Casey and environs in the role of Diesel Mechanic since commencing work for ANARE in 1976. He also worked closely with the Division’s Glaciology section at Head Office to assist them in their drilling projects.
Egon has made an outstanding contribution to Australia’s Antarctic program through his dedicated, innovative and invaluable support to the ANARE ice drilling project.
