Doug Twigg joined ANARE in 1955 to winter at Macquarie Island as a Radio Supervisor. Doug also wintered a second time in 1978, when he was Officer-in-Charge at Casey. In addition he completed 16 years on the staff of the AAD as Senior Technical Officer (Radio).
Doug has given long and exemplary service to ANARE and always shown an infectious enthusiasm for the Antarctic which has motivated others.
