David Grant undertook five stints in the Antarctic whilst working for the Bureau of Meteorology. In 1976 he was a member of the Spring Traverse to Mt King and helped to set up the summer camp. In all of his following tenures in the Antarctic, David has undertaken additional tasks from assisting with science programs to undertaking an 18 day dog trip to repair an Automatic Weather Station.

He is a competent observer whose technical skills and general all round working ability, coupled with his dedication rate him above average.
